The Breakfast Klub Hosts HBCU Send-Off for College Students

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the country are seeing a resurgence of interest and funding in the last few years. To support incoming freshmen students at HBCUs and to encourage them as they embark on a new chapter of their lives, The Breakfast Klub is hosting a free celebratory event, HBCU Sendoff. Approximately 150 students are expected to attend. Registration is required.

Friday, August 5, 2022, 6 – 9 p.m.

Data from the McKinsey Institute for Black Economic Mobility suggests that the incomes of Black American workers would increase by $10 billion per year if enrollment and graduation rates were to increase at HBCUs.

“This event signifies our commitment to and belief in the HBCU as an institution,” said Marcus Davis, chief steward of The Breakfast Klub. “HBCUs help build the African American community, and with this event, we celebrate the choices of these students and show them our support.

Founded in 2001, The Breakfast Klub celebrates over 20 years of serving the city of Houston and visitors from around the world. The restaurant consistently receives rave reviews, including recognition as the best breakfast in the country by Good Morning America, USA Today, Esquire magazine, and Forbes magazine. Locally, The Breakfast Klub is touted by the Houston Chronicle as the Best of the Best Breakfast among other accolades.
