$20 million Soon Available for Diverse Houston Area Small Businesses and Non-Profits

Houston Fund for Social Justice and Economic Equity Honorary Board Chair Mayor Sylvester Turner, along with Wells Fargo and Black Houston business and civic leaders – Mayor Sylvester Turner, Honorary Board Chair, Houston Fund for Social Justice and Economic Equity, Thomas Jones, Board President, Houston Fund for Social Justice and Economic Equity, Winell Herron, Treasurer, Houston Fund for Social Justice and Economic Equity and Dr. Gena L. Jerkins, Executive Director, Houston Fund for Social Justice and Economic Equity, officially announced the launch of the Open for Business Grant portal to dis- tribute $20 million to Houston-area diverse, small businesses and non-profit organizations.
Estimated to reach 500+ small businesses and non-profits, the Houston Fund for Social Justice and Economic Equity will distribute the funding in the form of grants over a three-year period to be used towards the purchase of property, equipment, and other tangible assets, supporting economic development in underserved communities.
