The Iman Project and the Plant Project plant shop in Houston are offering a fun, new “Plant Tiny Seeds” hands-on summer series just for kids on select Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, June through August!
The new summer series gives kids and parents a cool way to connect to the natural world and learn about the joys of plants, gardening and much more in one-hour hands-on workshops and classes at The Plant Project shop (2031 Buffalo Terrace) in the Montrose area of Houston!
The “Plant Tiny Seeds” workshops are presented by The Iman Project, a lifestyle brand created by Plant Project owner Bree Iman Clarke, whose workshops are always created with purpose to bring a true sense of community through memories and moments, no matter your style, age, opinion, skin color or background. Clarke created the summer series for kids as a therapeutic buffer to all that’s happening in the world to help with children’s mental health and wellness, while connecting them with plants and nature.
“Kids are dealing with so much right now, especially with the most recent elementary school shooting,” said Bree Iman Clarke, Founder of The Iman Project and The Plant Project. “We wanted to offer hands-on workshops and classes that will teach our little ones how to build, grow and nurture, not only with their hands, but with their heart as well. The summer series will be full of wonderful, creative activities that bring parents and kids together to de-stress and learn the how-to’s of planting, potting, gardening, growing, and caring for house plants, fresh flowers, vegetables, succulents and so much more. It’s a therapeutic way for kids, and adults, to learn, with an experience that continues to grow beyond the one-hour workshop.”
The series will feature unique, fun and educational experiences for kids, especially those who love digging in the dirt, from Potting & Planting Workshops to Kid’s Floral Design, Kid Yoga, Vegetable Gardening, Succulent Gardens, and more. Each workshop costs only $5-$10, to cover the cost of supplies, and kids get take plants and projects home to nurture and grow!
The Plant Tiny Seeds Summer Series kicks off on Thursday, June 16, 2022, with a “GROW WITH ME” Potting & Planting Workshop from 1PM-2PM at The Plant Project. Kids get to paint their own pots and learn about plants, how to pot them and care for them! The cost is $5 per child.
On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 1PM-2PM, kids can explore the world of succulent plants with a “SUNSHINE & SUCCULENTS” workshop. Children will get to create their very own succulent garden to take home and care for! Workshop fee is $10.
On Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 10AM-11AM, The Plant Project is hosting a “BLOOMING KIDS” class where children can create their own blooming bouquet with fresh cut flowers! Kids will learn about flower varieties, colors, and textures, with easy floral design tips. Workshop fee is $10.
Parents and kids who attend the workshops can also leave their car parked at The Plant Project and walk right across the street to Buffalo Bayou Park, one of the country's great urban green spaces, for a picnic in the Barbara Fish Daniel Playground Picnic Pavilion or other activities in the park.
Space is limited in these workshops so pre-registration and pre-payment are required. To register for a Plant Tiny Seeds Summer Series workshop visit https://www.theimanproject.com.
