Today six Republican United States Supreme Court Justices officially overturned the Roe v. Wade decision which had provided constitutional protection for women all across our state and nation to decide for themselves about having an abortion.

We knew this day was coming but the final decision is also a red flag warning about the future attacks coming on the right to privacy, contraception, same sex marriage and even broader attacks on the rights of the LGBTQI+ community across our state and our nation.

In addition to today’s assault on the rights of women, Republicans in the Texas legislature and Governor Abbott continue to refuse to protect our children from gun violence in their schools.

Today’s Supreme Court decision along with the shocking relegations coming out of the January 6th hearings make it abundantly clear that Republicans are no longer morally fit to lead our state or lead our nation.

To protect our children, defend our rights and safeguard our democracy, Texans and Americans need to elect Democrats this November to statewide offices, state legislatures and Congress-both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate.
