Rose Brooks, the storied Lancaster Hotel’s longest standing employee, will retire this month after 39 years of service. During that time, she has served more than 1.4 million guests including politicians, celebrities, actors and performers, sports icons, powerful lawyers, government leaders, local executives, honeymoon, anniversary couples, remodels, and renovations. The list goes on and on.

“Rose has been a true ambassador of hospitality for the City of Houston and State of Texas – greeting and serving so many special guests who have dined or stayed with us,” said Tom Harwell, general manager of The Lancaster.

Rose Brooks has been repeatedly complimented by guests in Trip Advisor reviews for her warm professionalism, creating memorable experiences for guests. Mayor Sylvester Turner has proclaimed Tuesday, May 17th as Rose Brooks Day. Rose began her career in food and beverage at the hotel just as it transitioned from the Auditorium Hotel to The Lancaster.
