Mayor Sylvester Turner invites Astros fans to celebrate the 2022 World Series Champions at a victory parade Monday at noon.

The parade route will follow Smith St., beginning at Preston and continuing to Tuam, running approximately 1.7 miles. In addition to the World Series Champion Houston Astros, parade watchers can enjoy music from the Texas Southern University Ocean of Soul, the University of Houston marching band, DJs and more.

"This is going to be a great day for Houston to show the world who we are as we celebrate the 2022 World Series winners, the Houston Astros," Mayor Turner said. "I congratulate the entire organization and encourage fans to arrive early, wear Astros colors, be loud, and celebrate safety."

Safety

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and pack plenty of food, drinks, and patience. In 2017, downtown hosted approximately 1 million people for the World Series parade, and organizers expected a similar-sized crowd this year.

As in any public event, visitors are encouraged to say something if they notice anything suspicious. Ample police and emergency medical services will be available.

Traffic

Drivers should anticipate extended delays and detours in and near downtown. Street closures along Smith, Bagby, and Louisiana streets will begin around 9 a.m. Downtown visitors should refrain from parking along the parade route, as vehicles may be damaged in the expectedly massive crowd.

Paradegoers are encouraged to use public transit, and METRO announced plans to provide free rides on all routes all day. Transit users may find more information, including service alert sign-ups for bus routes that will be detoured, by clicking here
