“Thanksgiving without food would be hard to bear”

Hope Over Hunger feeds thousands today, November 16, 2022. With the rise in food cost, and everything else essential for life, food during Thanksgiving will be a challenge for many Houston families. But thankfully the Community of Faith Church is distributing enough food for 2,000 people. The program is called Hope Over Hunger and that is what will happen today when 500 families receive enough food for two weeks, including the Thanksgiving Holiday!
Bishop James Dixon, II, is calling the event a demonstration of “loving your neighbor as yourself.” He says, “In times like these, we need to inspire all who are able, to give back, serve others and lift the burdens of our neighbors.”
The Hope Over Hunger Thanksgiving food giveaway takes place today from 10:00AM-2:00PM, at 1023 Pinemont Drive, Houston, Texas. It is made possible by strategic partnership with the Houston Food Bank, and a robust team of about 75 volunteers, among whom are a couple of 90 plus year old seniors! The effort is coordinated by the bishop’s sister, Tonya Dixon.
