On Friday, December 2, 2022, Photon Auto Inc. and the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design will celebrate the opening of a new and innovative Electric Vehicle Concepts Exhibition at the university’s Mashburn Gallery. The first-of-its-kind exhibition will feature 16 projects, including eight new electric vehicle models, that explore the best interior and exterior design for a new generation of luxury electric vehicles. Dr. Renu Khator, Chancellor and President of University of Houston, will be joined by Dr. Arumugam Manthiram, Professor at UT Austin, Chairman of TexPower EV Technologies, and other VIPs to inaugurate the exhibition, which was developed in partnership with UH undergraduate students who created the fresh electric vehicles concepts from scratch.
Photon Auto, based in Houston, is developing a new luxury electric vehicle with a range of 500+ miles and is equipped with lidar systems, which send pulses of laser light to determine the presence, shape and distance of objects, and advanced crash prevention systems. TexPower develops cobalt-free high-energy cathode materials for lithium-based batteries for premium electric vehicle markets and special applications. Additionally, it is working on a new 350 watt hour per kilogram battery to power Photon Auto electric vehicles.
