Grammy Award-Winning Vocalist Leslie Lugo Headlines University of Houston-Downtown’s Kickoff for Hispanic Heritage Month

University of Houston-Downtown’s (UHD) Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB) kicks off a month of events celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a program highlighting the business school’s partnerships with influential Latino business associations followed by a performance by Grammy Award-winning singer Leslie Lugo.
UHD is educating the leaders of tomorrow. UHD’s MDCOB’s partnerships with such organizations as Power on Heels and Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) bolster our students as career-ready graduates. As a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) with 53% percent of its students identifying as Hispanic, UHD takes great pride in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
The event will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 11 – 11:30 a.m., with the Hispanic Heritage Celebration with VIP Speakers in the
B-110 Shea Street Building, 320 N. Main St. Houston, TX 77002. Leslie Lugo will perform at Noon on the patio of Shea Street Building, 320 N. Main St. Houston, TX 77002.
Those scheduled to attend are Leslie Lugo, the bilingual, international award-winning performer and accomplished Grammy recognized singer/songwriter; State Representative Christina Morales ; District H Houston City Council Member Karla Cisneros; Ivette Mayo, CEO/Founder of Power on Heels Fund Inc. and ALPFA Houston: Mabel Casanova, Director of Corporate Events; Clarissa Barboza, Director of Social Events; Zackery Miller-Perez, Director of Student Affairs.
