Mayor Turner Invited By President Biden to Witness the Signing of the Inflation Reduction Act

Mayor Sylvester Turner is traveling to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the invitation of President Biden, to witness the signing of the Inflation Reduction Act.
As you may recall, Mayor Turner is Chair of the Resilient Cities Network and Chair of Climate Mayors, a bipartisan network of more than 470 U.S. mayors demonstrating climate leadership through meaningful actions in their communities.
As the mayor wrote in a statement when Congress passed the bill, it is “the biggest investment by Congress to address and accelerate climate action in U.S history, and a massive victory for cities and towns around the country. At last, local leaders will be granted the influx of tools and resources needed to combat the climate crisis, create jobs, and address environmental injustice in our communities.”
