TXDot and Transportation Officials From Across the Houston Region Partner to Put a Powerful Mobility App in the Hands of Area Commuters

Official launch ceremony for Houston ConnectSmart, a new smartphone app that provides all transit options in the Houston area on one convenient platform, including routes whether traveling by car, bus, rail, bicycle, foot or carpool, and transit ticketing. Transportation Commissioner Laura Ryan, TxDOT Houston District Engineer Eliza Paul, METRO President & CEO Tom Lambert, and Harris County Toll Road Authority Director Roberto Trevino will be on hand for the announcement.
ConnectSmart is the first transportation smartphone app designed for Houston that provides multimodal travel options for daily commutes and offers convenient integrations including BCycle, METRO, and Tow and Go. The app provides tailored, personalized suggestions to improve trips and encourage more transportation choices.
In addition to helping reduce traffic congestion, the app will help reduce the harmful air emissions throughout the region.
The eight-county region composed of Harris, Montgomery, Liberty, Chambers, Galveston, Brazoria, Fort Bend and Waller counties and anchored by the City of Houston.
