On Friday, April 21, 2023, Congressman Al Green will present a symbolic check in the amount of $259,508 to the City of Stafford for the Stafford Emergency Operation Center.

This funding will be used to modernize the Stafford Emergency Operations Center by replacing analog technology with digital technology and creating a more efficient and effective workspace to gather information, communicate resources, and guide emergency operations.

Renovating the Emergency Operations Center will provide the technology and workspace necessary for the City of Stafford to efficiently operate during an emergency, more effectively save lives, and protect property.

Mayor Willis stated: “On behalf of the City of Stafford and our citizens, I want to express my gratitude to Congressman Green for his assistance in acquiring this grant. Congressman Green holds a special place in our community as he has always supported us in serving our community. These funds will allow us to remodel our Emergency Operations Center into a state-of-the-art facility, for us to better serve our citizens.”

Congressman Al Green will be joined by Mayor Cecil Willis of Stafford, TX at the press conference at the Stafford City Hall on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 10am CST.
