This highly anticipated event is inviting the entire community out to support the efforts of their youth and an outstanding program who sponsors young adults who have aged out of foster care in need of monetary resources to obtain a trade skill. Come out and shop with local vendors, obtain community resources, and pull up a seat to enjoy the show! What The Fun Photo Booth will also be present to captivate memorable moments for you and your family.

Their goal is to raise $25,000 collectively. The funds raised will go to buying equipment and materials needed for the youth church, help with future field trips and beyond. The 70 Years Scholarship team goal is to award at least 5 individuals by December 2023. Together, with your help, they will go far!

Recycle! Recycle! Recycle! In efforts to maximize their efforts to raise funds, they have partnered with a cost-free & hassle-free clothing/textile recycling program. Gather all of your reusable cloth materials (bed sheets, pillows, shower curtains, etc.) and clothing + accessories (belts, scarves, hats, shoes, handbags, etc.) and place them into a kitchen &/or gallon trash bag. Leather goods are also acceptable. The goal is to collect 8,000 pounds! Their team will receive .20 per pound which can add up exponentially! All items recycled are benefiting the domestic community. Recycling has been proven to help keep our planet green by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

About HLC Raising Angels:

The HLC Raising Angels is the thriving Youth Department of Hosanna Lutheran Church. "It Takes a Village to raise a child." We believe it also takes a community to develop our children, expose our children to various opportunity and provide continuous hope.

About 70 Years of Blackness Scholarship Project:

Dr. Verda Byrd Scholarship Project is a volunteer organization whose focus is to serve young adults between 18 and 25 years old aging out of the foster care system in the San Antonio area by raising funds through sponsors and donations to distribute as financial assistance to those seeking trade school education and certifications. We believe that occupational trades have as much value in them as other educational paths and can foster moral character, unity and lifelong skills. Our vision is to continuously provide partial or full scholarships through donors and sponsors to post foster care young adults seeking trade school certifications.

The Event is FREE and OPEN to the general public.
