District D is excited to celebrate Community Leader, Efrem Jernigan. Mr. Jernigan has served as the President of South Union Community Development Corporation for many years. South Union Community Development Corporation is a STEM Foundation which teaches 3rd-12th grade inner-city youth about Science, Technology, and Engineering. Their programs consists of Sunnyside Energy Project, Solar Outdoor Classroom, and the Senior Lunch Program to name a few. Under his leadership, the South Union Community Development Corporation has helped countless scholars earn scholarship money, receive tutorial services, and acquire valuable internship opportunities that have improved the quality of life for children, families, and our community.
