Latino Leadership Award Recognizes ECODiversity CEO for Advocacy Leadership on behalf of Latino Heritage Sites, DEI in National Parks

Diversity Journal has named ECODiversity CEO Noemi Lujan Perez among the magazine’s 2023 Latino Leadership Awardees for her efforts championing meaningful change in national parks on behalf of Latinos, and for her trailblazing work with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to prioritize Latino Heritage Sites.
For more than two decades, Diversity Journal has showcased and honored Latinos who have blazed new trails and excelled in their chosen fields. Noemi was selected for her unrelenting work over the past two years to raise awareness about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) discrepancies in our national parks and her trailblazing work on behalf of Latino Heritage Sites. Her work with public lands, including wildlife refuges, has spanned over the past 12 years.
A seasoned professional with a track record of over 27 years in policy and public affairs, Noemi has a legal concentration in legal compliance and HR law from the USC Gould School of Law. She leverages her legal and DEI training to influence federal policy and federal DEI strategic planning.
As the convenor of the Latino Heritage Sites Action Network (LHSAN), she has assembled a coalition of Indigenous, Afro-Latino, Asian, and LGBTQ leaders that reflect the diversity of Latino heritage and culture. Her efforts to drive inclusion of Latinos in our national parks includes driving inclusion of Afro-Caribeños, Asian, and LGBTQ community members in Latino conservation spaces.
