Celebrate Black History Month!
We hope you're enjoying the second month of the year and continuing to support African-American literature. During this month, we've been highlighting authors on our social media platforms who are making a difference by writing books that both inform and entertain.
To stay abreast of the latest news and new releases in African-American literature, tune in to our weekly, live-streamed show, Black Authors Matter TV, on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 pm CST. The show is live-streamed on the NBBF Facebook page and, since the show's inception in July 2020, has interviewed nearly 500 guests, including authors, publishers, bookstore owners, book club facilitators, and other literary influencers.
Make plans to attend the 2023 National Black Book Festival, Oct. 26-28 in Houston. This year will be our 16th anniversary and our goal is to make it the best one yet!
A few photos from the 2022 NBBF are included here on the left, but to view the 300+ photos we shot from the event, visit our Facebook and Instagram pages here: NBBF Facebook Page - NBBF Instagram Page.
Registration for authors, publishers, and vendors for 2023 is now open. Register early to receive the best pricing and terms. Early bird registration ends March 31st, after which time the price increases. You may register online HERE.
Our featured author lineup for 2023 NBBF will be impressive. We've already confirmed best-selling author Kwame Alexander as a featured author. We will share more developments about this year's event as plans are solidified.
We will also have free seminars about book marketing, self-publishing, turning your book into a film, and acquiring a literary agent.
Continue to support African-American literature and stay tuned for more developments in the coming months.
