Today, candidate for Houston Mayor, Amanda K. Edwards, announced that her campaign raised over $567,000 for the reporting period starting July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022. The campaign also ended its December 31st financial reporting period with over $1 million in cash-on-hand. Edwards’ breadth of support from across Houston demonstrates her ability to engage with voters on their shared values and common goal to live in the city that they deserve.

The outcome of this race could be historic. If Edwards succeeds in her bid, she would be the first woman of color elected Mayor of Houston. Amanda is a native Houstonian, attorney, and former At-Large Houston City Council Member. Amanda is a graduate of Eisenhower High School in Aldine I.S.D., Emory University and Harvard Law School. Prior to elected office, Amanda practiced law as a municipal finance lawyer with Bracewell LLP and Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston.
