Congressman Al Green Secures S292,000 in Much-Needed Federal Funding for the Odyssey House Adolescent Services Facility Improvements

On Thursday, July 6, 2023, Congressman Al Green will present a symbone check in the amount of $292,000 to Cenikor Foundation for improvements to the Odyssey House. He released the following statement:
"The Odyssey House is a critical resource for youth struggling with substance abuse. The facility provides evidence-based treatment that has helped thousands of young people achieve sobriety, rebuild their lives and become productive members of society. I am proud to help the Odyssey House acquire funds needed to continue providing its life-saving services to adolescents in need," Congressman Green said.
This much-needed funding will be used for capital improvements to a 32-bed, coed residential substance-abuse-disorder treatment facility for adolescents. These upgrades will include kitchen and equipment improvements, a new roof with ceiling repairs, as well as health and satcty renovations.
Odyssey House annually provides critical behavioral health and supportive services to over 200 low-income adolescents in a safe, stable environment while addressing their mental, spiritual, and emotional needs. The requested $292,000 in capital funding will enable Odyssey House to meet our growing need for communitvsbased adolescent services.
