Comedian and TV star Mo Amer, a highly regarded and respected Houstonian, will celebrate “Mo Amer Day in Houston” with a special homecoming performance at Bayou Music Center in Houston, TX, on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Tickets are on sale now. at LiveNation.com
“Houston means so much to me. I am thrilled to kick off ‘Mo Day’ at Bayou Music Center with the people that mean the most to me. I look forward to celebrating with H-Town and to give back to the community that nurtured me,” said Mo Amer. There will also be other surprise guests for the night, to be announced later.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Hastings High Theatre program and band and other Houston Charities.
Mohammed “Mo” Amer is a Palestinian-American stand-up comedian and award winning writer. He can currently be seen in the Netflix series Mo, a semi-autobiographical series and love letter to the City of Houston.
The show Mo was certified fresh by Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% from critics and was named one of the best for 2022 from The New York Times and NY Magazine. He also won a 2022 Gotham Award; AFI Award; a 2023 Peabody Award and a 2023 Television Academy Honor. He was also nominated for a 2023 Film Independent Award for “Lead Actor in a Special Series”. The show is currently in prep for its second season.
In recognition of Amer’s love for his hometown of Houston and all things in the 713 area code, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner proclaimed September 16 as “Mo Amer Day in Houston.”
Mo was also seen co-starring alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the DC Comics superhero film Black Adam. The film grossed over 393 million dollars globally where he was the scene stealing comedy relief to The Rock.
Recently Mo has had two Netflix comedy specials: Mo Amer: The Vagabond and Mo Amer: Mohammed in Texas on November 30, 2021. .
