Greater Houston’s newest Nails of America location is debuting on July 23 at 4777 Sweetwater Blvd. in Sugar Land, bringing the footprint of locally-based parent Nails of America | Milano Nail Spa to nearly 70 locations. The Sugar Land unveiling marks another milestone in an unprecedented year of growth for the company and follows openings this month that include Milano Nail Spa Galleria and Milano Nail Spa Flower Mound (DFW), the first expansion unit outside of Houston. An acclaimed staff with an unwavering commitment to excellence now exceeds 1,000 companywide – a figure that represents mostly first and second-generation Americans.

Located in Regency Center’s bustling Sweetwater Plaza, the 2,500-square-foot Nails of America First Colony Sugar Land location is just moments from both Sugar Land Town Square and First Colony Mall. Boasting an opulent atmosphere, spotless surroundings and a team of 30 highly skilled technicians – a count anticipated to grow to 50 as the salon establishes itself – Nails of America First Colony Sugar Land epitomizes luxury in every way. The location also offers a fit and finish that sets Nails of America and sister brand Milano Nail Spa apart in the industry.

The salon will offer an abundance of manicure and pedicure options, a dizzying array of 2,000 polish selections, intricate nail art, plus premium treatments including waxing and lashes – all tailored to meet the discerning tastes of the sophisticated Sugar Land clientele. The vibrant and festive ambience incorporates numerous TV monitors, specialty seasonal décor, plus complimentary beverages, ranging from sparkling water and sodas to margaritas and mimosas.

The thoughtful layout features distinct, purpose-driven zones. The reception area and front room showcases 18 manicure stations with comfy leather seating for guests. Beyond that, a pedicure room encompasses 15, customized i-Lux massage chairs, designed for both comfort and relaxation. Clients seeking a more intimate experience or a place to get away with friends or family can choose between two, semi-private rooms, each offering seating for four. A private waxing room is located to the rear.

Helming Nails of America First Colony Sugar Land are operating partners Trang Chu and Tony Nguyen, a dynamic duo with remarkable synchronicity. Born on the same day and sharing the same age, the Vietnamese immigrants first met after just having moved to Houston more than 5 years ago, simultaneously starting together as nail technicians with Nails of America | Milano Nail Spa in Sugar Land.

Both not only excelled with acrylics, but also in business. Their dedication and acumen was quickly recognized by company founder, CEO and American success story Thai “Tom” Tran, who is well-known for creating life-changing opportunities for the company’s brightest stars. With Tran’s support, Chu and Nguyen would ultimately go on to serve as managers on the opening team of Milano Nail Spa Spring before being awarded the Nails of America dual operating partner role for the First Colony Sugar Land location.

While Chu and Nguyen share many traits, they found their current careers very differently. Chu first left Vietnam at 18 to pursue a future in hospitality, initially relocating in Australia, where she studied and worked for French hotel brand Novotel. Looking to further advance her schooling, she then relocated to San Francisco. Marrying soon after, she and her husband decided to change course and moved to Houston, where they were drawn by the scale of the Vietnamese community. Nguyen, on the other hand, moved directly to Houston from Vietnam at age 18, and as a newlywed, saw the nail industry as an opportunity for advancement and financial security for his new family.

“The chance to lead Nails of America First Colony Sugar Land with Tony fills my spirit with gratitude, and we embrace this opportunity with open arms,” says Chu. “We are so excited to be part of this community, where we were first welcomed to Houston and given the chance to achieve the American dream.”

And Nails of America is an apropos brand to celebrate the U.S. with signature design elements that include oversized images of iconic American places, as well as portraits of many of the country’s most notable presidents.

Nails of America Sugar Land will treat customers to 30% off all treatments on July 23 and will kick off opening day festivities with a traditional Vietnamese lion dance at 10 am that morning. The location will also feature a loyalty program that provides clientele 3% off on return visits.

Regular hours are 9 am until 7 pm Monday through Saturday and 10 am until 5 pm on Sundays, including opening day. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are suggested to avoid a wait time.
