House Fire in The Greater Third Ward Area

House fire occurred on July 24, 2023, at 1:39 p.m. at the 3300 block of Anita St. 77004.

CAUSE: Unintentional (electrical).
Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find light smoke coming from a 1-story house and found a smoldering fire in the attic. They extinguished the fire and ventilated the smoke from the attic and home. Exposed electrical wires were found on top of the blown insulation and the occupant was advised to leave the power off until the wiring could be repaired. 29 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews form Stations 40, 8, 7, 18, 25 and 29.
