Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin would like to make residents aware of the collection and facility schedule changes for the upcoming Independence Day federal holiday.

In observance of Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4, collection services will be delayed from the scheduled service day. City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department asks all residents to review the holiday schedule below and leave their carts at the curb. Residents can follow SWMD on Facebook and Twitter and download the HTX Collects app for up-to-date information on our services.

Tuesday, July 4, 2023 (Independence Day)

CITY HOLIDAY: NO COLLECTION SERVICES. All Solid Waste Facilities including the Neighborhood Depositories, Recycling Centers, and administrative offices will be closed.

Wednesday, July 5, 2023

Tuesday’s garbage, yard waste, and 1st Tuesday and 1st Wednesday's Tree Waste collections will be serviced. All Solid Waste facilities will re-open and resume normal operating hours.

Thursday, July 6, 2023

Thursday’s garbage, yard waste, and 1st Thursday's Tree Waste collections will be serviced.

Friday, July 7, 2023

Friday’s garbage, yard waste, 1st Friday's Tree Waste collections will be serviced.

Saturday, July 8, 2023

Monday and Tuesday’s B-Week recycling will be serviced.

REMINDER: Delays in curbside recycling collection should be anticipated. Collection crews will work throughout the weekend to ensure services are provided on the designated collection week.
