Join Visual Arts Alliance Saturday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. for an in-personstudio visit with Sherry Tseng Hill in advance of her exhibition opening at Moody Gallery. RSVP to jaymesearl2014@gmail.com to receive further instructions for meeting at the studio.

Sherry Tseng Hill sometimes paints and draws, but mostly she looks under rocks, peels back surfaces, and makes things thinking about the rhythm of a community. Based in Houston, TX., her work explores the idea of traces and crevices and how they serve as metaphors for other things - erasure, loss, the passage of time, and what is seen/not seen. Constructed from everyday objects, her traces layer disparate materials to imagine a world where those hidden in the crevices become visible.

Having won numerous awards, her works are in the City of Houston and Houston Endowment permanent collections. She is completing her second year of the Block Program at Glassell School of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

She is busy making new art for the upcoming 2-person exhibition, "And Some, I Assume, Are Good People" at Arts Fort Worth with artist Chet Urban.
