The Houston Symphony thrilled to announce that Golden Globe Award-winning actor Kyle MacLachlan—best known for his roles in Twin Peaks, Dune, Blue Velvet, Portlandia, Desperate Housewives, and Sex and the City—will join the cast of Stravinsky’s Oedipus rex as narrator. MacLachlan joins an already star-studded cast of singers, headlined by tenor Sean Panikkar (Oedipus) and Michelle DeYoung (Jocasta), for this monumental season-finale production, which will see Jones Hall transformed through immersive video projections by Adam Larsen.

Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, also known as the Pathétique, is a powerful and deeply emotional work that will leave you feeling moved and inspired. Plus, Houston favorite Augustin Hadelich dazzles with music of Prokofiev, and the orchestra performs Creston’s Dance Overture. Led by Music Director Juraj Valčuha, this concert pays tribute to former Houston Symphony Conductor-in-Chief Sir John Barbirolli, and is an exact recreation of one of his programs
