GALVESTON, Texas - February 1, 2024 — Dive into the Gulf: An Exposition returns for its second year, promising an enriching experience for ocean lovers, divers, and conservationists. Scheduled from February 23-25, 2024, this unique event will unfold at the picturesque Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas. The Expo aims to inspire individuals to explore the wonders of the Gulf of Mexico through educational talks, hands-on activities, interactions with scuba industry vendors, displays of ocean art, and more.

The Expo boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, including underwater archaeologists and partners from the National Marine Sanctuaries programs. Attendees will have the chance to explore dive equipment, engage with vendors, and experience SCUBA diving firsthand. Exclusive Behind the Scenes tours of the Aquarium Pyramid will be available for hotel guests. As a special highlight, the event will feature a "Currents in the Gulf" dinner with Lionfish as the main course, delivering a crucial educational and conservation message. Raffles and prizes will be offered to support various conservation efforts, along with a virtual silent auction.

Jake Emmert, Chair of the Sanctuary Advisory and Counsel for the Flower Gardens Banks Marine Sanctuary and Moody Gardens Dive Safety Officer, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "This year, we have an extraordinary narrative to convey regarding pioneering research endeavors and the establishment of collaborative partnerships. We are eagerly looking forward to sharing this with a community that genuinely values our mission."

Dedicated to responsible conservation and restoration of the planet's aquatic and terrestrial environments, the Expo serves as a fundraiser for the Moody Gardens Conservation Fund. This fund plays a vital role in supporting field conservation, species preservation, and habitat restoration. In its inaugural year, the exposition successfully raised over $5,000 for the fund, and organizers aim to surpass this contribution and raise awareness for the cause.

Guests can enhance their experience by staying at the Moody Gardens Hotel, with special packages available for the weekend event. For detailed information on Dive into the Gulf: An Exposition, visit moodygardens.org/dive-expo or call 409-744-4673.
