In a heartwarming endeavor to create an inclusive and comforting environment, Children's Museum Houston is set to host an exclusive Valentine-themed Sensory Friendly event on Monday, February 12, beginning at 10 a.m. The event caters specifically to children with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, and various learning differences, along with their families, offering a private escape from sensory overload.

During this unique event, the museum will be transformed into a haven of comfort and enjoyment, with doors closed to the public. To ensure a serene atmosphere, there will be no music, and sound-reducing headphones will be available. Families are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks as the Fresh Café will be closed for the occasion.

Special Events:

Faithful Paws: Experience unconditional love and furry comfort with trained therapy pets from 10 am to noon in Tree Top.

Rising Stars ABA: Learn about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) through interactive sensory activities from 10 am to 1 pm in New Kids' Hall.

Valentine Story Time:Join the sweet Valentine reading experience at 11 am, 11:30 am, and noon in the Parent Resource Library.

Onsite Resources (10 am to 1 pm):

Workforce Solution: Offering information on vocational rehab services for children with disabilities aged 14 to 22.

Cool Down Room: A space to relax when things get too exciting, located in the Celebrations Cool Down room.

Special Hours/Cost:

Special Sensory Friendly Day Admission: $8 per person. Children under one and Museum Members receive free admission.
