Mother and Daughter Receive Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award

Phyllis Burton and Princess Jackson received a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden on December 17th 2023. This mother and daughter duo was recognized for their outstanding community service for over 10 years. Phyllis Burton also received her Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanitarianism. These prestigious awards were distributed by Leaders Esteem Christian Bible University.
Phyllis is a Registered Nurse, the CEO and Founder of the V.O. Burton Foundation Inc., and the Executive Director for Sock Out Poverty Inc. The V.O. Burton Foundation provides hot meals, clothing, and care packages to underserved families. This organization also awards scholarships to graduating seniors pursing an higher education.
Princess is the founder of Sock Out Poverty, Inc.. This nonprofit has been in existence for over 10 years. Princess gives the most needed yet overlooked item to the less fortunate, and that's a new pair of socks. To date, Princess has given out more than 20,000 pairs of new socks in the Texas, Atlanta, California, Washington, DC, Orlando, FL, New York, Alabama, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Tulsa areas. Her goal is to go global and sock out poverty all over the world.
Phyllis and Princess were featured on the TAMRON HALL show for the work they have done in the community. Princess was also featured on the Steve Harvey Show. Together they are reducing poverty and restoring lives by building a better tomorrow, today.
