The Guide to Good Divorce℠ program today announced its 2024 seminar schedule. The unique and popular seminars are designed to help women transition through the divorce process legally, financially, and spiritually to a happier, healthier post-divorce life.
“Divorce is seldom easy -- yet navigating its rocky shoals with a road map based on experience, knowledge, planning, and moral support can be absolutely transformational,” explains Trey Yates, a seasoned Houston-based board-certified family law attorney and founder of the program.
“Our seminars are holistic, providing women with information critical to making informed divorce decisions and putting their lives back together,” says Yates. “The program addresses the legal and financial aspects of divorce, but also the opportunity for personal growth and self-awareness afforded by the divorce process. Program attendees are encouraged to build support communities and attend to emotional and spiritual wellness.”
Here is the 2024 Guide to Good Divorce seminar schedule:
Saturday, Feb. 3; 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Houstonian (111 N. Post Oak Lane)
Featuring guest speaker Deborah Duncan, host of Great Day Houston
Saturday, Apr. 6; 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Houstonian
Special Focus on Special Needs
Saturday, June 22; 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Houstonian
Saturday, Sept. 14; 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Houstonian
The Guide to Good Divorce half-day seminars include sessions led by Yates on Texas divorce law, and presentations from certified divorce financial analysts, trained therapists, and other wellness professionals. Over 600 women have attended the quarterly workshops since they began in 2011.
“We introduced our seminars in 2011 and have had great success reaching many women who find themselves at this difficult crossroads. I have witnessed our attendees draw strength, comfort and self-confidence from our seminars and each other as they tackle the many challenges of divorce.”
Yates has practiced family law in the greater Houston metropolitan area since 1986. His idea for the seminars evolved over several years as he realized that many of his female clients going through divorce could benefit from additional assistance beyond legal services.
