The George & Barbara Bush Foundation is gearing up for a grand celebration in honor of what would have been President George H.W. Bush's 100th birthday. The 41@100: A Celebration of George H.W. Bush will be a three-day event from June 11-13, 2024, at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Center on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas.
The foundation, led by Secretary Andrew H. Card, Jr., is extending invitations to Bush 41 alumni, Bush Foundation supporters, and fellow citizens to join in commemorating the life and legacy of the late president. The event will feature a series of events, including a panel discussion with Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Jon Meacham, a gala dinner with remarks by President George W. Bush, and a concert by Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett.
The celebration will also include a skydiving exhibition by the Bush grandchildren, the public opening of the Marine One/4141 Locomotive Pavilion, and a birthday cake and ice cream reception with a special appearance by Sully the Service Dog.
Funds raised from the 41@100 campaign will support the Centennial Campaign, which aims to fund the construction of The Pavilion for the Marine One helicopter and the Union Pacific 4141 Locomotive, expand the endowed scholarship and program offerings of The Bush School of Government & Public Service, increase support for the Bush Foundation’s endowment, and upgrade technology within the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum.
The celebration will be a fitting tribute to President George H.W. Bush, who dedicated his life to serving his country and making his communities better.
