Legacy Community Health will sponsor and participate in the 12th Annual Lyons Avenue Renaissance Festival, "Fifth Ward Forever," on Saturday, April 12, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Houston's historic Fifth Ward. This free, family-friendly event celebrates community heritage and culture with live music, performances, food, and activities for all ages.

The festival will take place along Lyons Avenue, between Gregg and Benson Streets, at 3800 Lyons Avenue. Highlights include performances by the Bayou City Brass Band, Step Rideau and the Zydeco Outlaws, and Brian Jack and the Zydeco Gamblers, along with a special gospel stage featuring Brian Dunlap and One Purpose. The event also honors local legends, including a line dance tribute to Congressman and former Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

Other activities include the popular Helicopter Egg Drop for kids, a Youth Stage with local performances, and a Kid Zone with face painting, crafts, and games. Local food vendors will offer a diverse range of delicious options throughout the day.

The opening ceremony will honor the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and Wheatley High School’s basketball team will also be celebrated. Legacy Community Health, as a sponsor, invites attendees to visit its booth for resources and to join in the fun.

The 12th Annual Lyons Avenue Renaissance Festival is free and open to the public. For more information, visit lyonsavenuefestival.com.
