YES Prep Public Schools earned a “B” in the Texas Education Agency’s 2026 accountability ratings, posting an overall score of 89, the highest accountability score the public charter school network has received to date.

The results also bring a significant achievement across YES Prep’s secondary schools: all 15 secondary campuses earned an “A” rating in overall performance.

YES Prep’s overall accountability score increased eight points, from 81 to 89, reflecting academic progress across the network. More than half of YES Prep’s elementary schools also earned a “B” rating in the 2026 accountability results.

An “A” rating in Overall Performance reflects exemplary academic performance across the measures evaluated by TEA. The rating indicates that a school serves students at a high level, with strong academic achievement and/or meaningful academic growth, and that students are on track for future success in college, career or the military.

TEA calculates overall accountability ratings across three domains: Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps.

The results are particularly notable across YES Prep’s secondary schools, where academic excellence has been a central focus of the network’s instructional strategy. YES Prep Southwest Secondary became the first YES Prep campus to earn an “A” without relying on Relative Performance, marking a significant academic milestone.

YES Prep Hobby Secondary improved by three letter grades in one year, while YES Prep Southside Secondary improved by four letter grades.

The 2026 accountability results come as YES Prep continues to expand its impact across the Houston area through its Power of YES expansion plan. YES Prep serves more than 21,000 students across 27 campuses and continues to expand access to high-quality public education for more families throughout Houston.

To celebrate the results, YES Prep leaders will join students and staff at A-rated schools across the district to recognize the work and dedication behind the academic progress. The celebrations will bring school communities together to recognize students, teachers, staff and campus leaders whose collective efforts continue to drive strong student outcomes.
