Houston gamers and music lovers are in for a cinematic concert experience next summer as the Houston Symphony presents Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY at Jones Hall for the Performing Arts on June 6 and 7, 2026.
Produced in partnership with AWR Music Productions, the official symphonic concert experience blends the power of a full orchestra and chorus with high-definition video from the legendary Final Fantasy franchise, projected on a massive screen above the stage. The result is an immersive, multimedia celebration of one of the most beloved video game series of all time.
Renowned conductor Arnie Roth will lead more than 100 musicians in a sweeping program that includes music by acclaimed composer Masayoshi Soken from Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI. Audiences will also hear fan-favorite scores by franchise legends Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu and Yoko Shimomura.
Adding to the excitement, vocalist Amanda Achen, known for her original performances in Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI, will appear as a special guest. The production also features newly created HD video content from Square Enix crafted specifically for this tour, alongside iconic moments from across the series’ decades-long history.
Performances are scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Jones Hall in downtown Houston’s Theater District.
