Houston diners are invited to experience Honest Mary’s, the Austin-based healthy bowls brand, at its grand opening celebration on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at River Oaks Shopping Center, 2047-A West Gray St. The event marks the brand’s first Houston-area location and fifth store overall.

Founder Nelson Monteith, a Houston native, launched Honest Mary’s in 2017 to provide healthy, fresh, and fast meal options. The River Oaks debut is a personal milestone for Monteith, bringing his chef-developed grain bowls, sipping broths, aguas frescas, and vibrant house sauces to his hometown community.

The grand opening will feature live acoustic music by Mark Dennison, complimentary signature bowls crafted by co-owner and award-winning chef Andrew Wiseheart, and giveaways for the first 200 guests in line, including $100 and $50 gift cards, merchandise, and vouchers for a free bowl.

Honest Mary’s River Oaks is designed for convenience and flavor, offering dine-in, takeaway, and online ordering daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. On the day of the event, the restaurant will open at 11:30 a.m. for festivities before transitioning to regular service at 1:30 p.m.
