Huntington Bancshares Incorporated has bolstered its capital markets and advisory capabilities through the acquisition of three business units from Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, bringing nearly 140 employees to Huntington Securities and Capstone Partners. The move strengthens Huntington’s offerings in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and institutional brokerage.

Janney’s middle-market investment banking business, TM Capital, now operates under Capstone Partners, Huntington’s M&A advisory firm focused on middle-market companies. This addition enhances Capstone’s private equity client relationships and solidifies its position as a top-10 U.S. middle-market investment bank. Corporate Finance teams from Janney specializing in Infrastructure, Technology, and Fintech have also joined Capstone, leveraging Huntington’s capital markets platform, including Sponsor Coverage and Leveraged Finance. Capstone’s workforce has increased by over 30 percent, expanding the firm’s geographic reach and industry sector coverage.

Employees from Janney’s Fixed Income, Equities, and Public Finance groups have joined Huntington Securities, an institutional broker-dealer, strengthening services for middle-market, corporate, private equity, and institutional clients. The acquisition enhances Huntington’s industry investment banking coverage, fixed income sales and trading, public finance capabilities, and support for real-estate investment trusts (REITs) and infrastructure clients.

The transaction extends Huntington’s presence in key U.S. markets, including New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, and Atlanta, reflecting the bank’s strategy to grow its capital markets and advisory services while integrating culturally aligned teams.
