The Lone Star Flight Museum (LSFM) is inviting visitors to take a journey through more than a century of aviation innovation with the opening of its newest exhibit, Made in Texas: 116 Years of Aviation History. The exhibit opens to the public on June 19, 2026, and will run through Jan. 3, 2027.

The original exhibit showcases Texas’ remarkable contributions to aviation through historical photographs, artifacts, and aircraft from the museum’s collection. Designed as a Texas-sized celebration, the exhibit highlights the people, planes, and companies that helped establish the Lone Star State as a major force in aviation history.

Visitors will discover an array of unique artifacts, including vintage flight attendant uniforms, elegant china once used for first-class airline service, and displays highlighting aircraft and aviation companies that were founded or manufactured in Texas. The exhibit also explores why Texas became a preferred location for pilot training and features stories of the pioneering aviators who helped shape the industry.

Among the individuals spotlighted are the legendary Tuskegee Airmen, Texas ACES, and numerous other pilots whose achievements left a lasting mark on aviation history.

In addition to the new exhibit, the museum is offering special summer promotions for families. Through the Summer Passport to Adventure program, sponsored by United Airlines, families can purchase a Family Summer Pass for $80. The pass includes unlimited admission for two adults and three children from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Sept. 7, along with access to special programs and events and discounts on summer camps, gift shop purchases, and more.

Visitors can also take advantage of July savings, including $10 general admission for all guests and $20 off Navigator-level memberships and above.

The Lone Star Flight Museum will be open seven days a week throughout the summer, giving Houstonians plenty of opportunities to explore the new exhibit and learn about Texas’ enduring impact on aviation.
