Houston travelers seeking a next-level luxury escape to Mexico’s Baja Peninsula now have a new reason to book Los Cabos. Grand Velas Los Cabos has introduced an exclusive new experience, Star Maps & Star Chefs: Michelin Dinner Under the Stars at Sea, combining fine dining, private yachting, and guided astronomy in one immersive evening.

The experience unfolds aboard the resort’s 55-foot Azimut yacht, Bella, where guests set out at golden hour into the Sea of Cortez. As the coastline of Baja California Sur fades into dusk, the yacht becomes a floating private restaurant featuring curated music, a premium open bar, and panoramic views of the region’s dramatic rock formations.

At the center of the journey is a five-course tasting menu created by chef Francisco Sixtos of the resort’s acclaimed MICHELIN-starred restaurant Cocina de Autor, which has retained its MICHELIN star annually since 2024. The kitchen team also includes chef Sidney Schutte, further elevating the culinary direction behind one of Los Cabos’ most recognized fine-dining programs.

Dishes highlight Baja’s coastal ingredients and global technique, with courses including Bluefin tuna with sea urchin and citrus, Kristal caviar with blue abalone, cured totoaba with carrot aguachile, and triple-seared Angus steak with maitake mushrooms, followed by a matcha-and-green-apple dessert. Wine pairings range from Champagne selections to bold Mexican reds designed to complement the progression of the meal under the night sky.

After dinner, the experience shifts from culinary to celestial. A private astronomer joins guests on deck to guide a live stargazing session using a high-powered telescope, interpreting constellations, planetary movement, and the mythology of the night sky over Baja.

The program is anchored in ultra-luxury accommodations at Grand Velas Los Cabos, including access to its expansive Presidential Suite, private airport transfers, spa treatments, and curated tequila tastings.

The Star Maps & Star Chefs experience is offered once per week, starting at approximately $4,500 per couple, and is available only to guests staying in the Presidential Suite, with a minimum four-night stay required.

For Houston travelers accustomed to direct flights to Los Cabos, the resort is positioning the experience as one of the most exclusive culinary and astronomy-focused luxury offerings in Mexico—blending Michelin-level dining with the natural theater of the Sea of Cortez.
