The James Talarico campaign has released its first major television advertisement of the general election, highlighting economic issues affecting Texans and outlining the candidate's legislative record.

The 30-second ad, titled "Drowning," focuses on the rising costs of groceries, gas, and healthcare. In the spot, Talarico discusses affordability concerns facing working families and points to legislation he supported during his tenure in the Texas House of Representatives.

According to the campaign, the advertisement is part of a multi-million-dollar statewide media buy and will air in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, and Harlingen-McAllen media markets. Additional advertising is expected in other Texas markets before Election Day.

The ad highlights Talarico's bipartisan legislative work, including support for measures related to insulin cost caps, small business tax relief, and property tax reductions. The campaign says those efforts reflect the approach Talarico would bring to the U.S. Senate.

Talarico is seeking election to the U.S. Senate in a race that is expected to draw significant attention from both major political parties. The contest is among several closely watched Senate races across the country and could play a role in determining the balance of power in the Senate following the November election.

The advertisement marks the beginning of what is expected to be an extensive statewide media campaign as candidates work to introduce themselves to voters and communicate their priorities ahead of Election Day.
