Looking for a Halloween getaway with a little more sophistication, a little more music and just the right amount of creepy?
Pack your bags for Nashville.
This Halloween, Hutton Hotel is getting into the spirit of the season with an Addams Family-inspired experience taking over the property for two nights, October 30 and 31. The centerpiece is Off Broadway: The Addams Family in Concert, taking place at the hotel's live music venue, Analog.
But the experience doesn't stop when the music starts.
Guests can explore a haunted house pop-up throughout the hotel, view a curated exhibition of original Charles Addams cartoons, discover eerie décor and experiential surprises, and enjoy themed cocktails before taking their seats for a special performance of The Addams Family musical.
It's the kind of Halloween experience that makes staying at the hotel part of the adventure.
Broadway Meets the Addams Family
The two-night production brings Broadway and national-tour talent to Music City.
Sara Gettelfinger takes on the role of Morticia, with Brian Charles Rooney as Gomez and Rachel Potter as Wednesday. Composer Andrew Lippa, whose work includes the music and lyrics for The Addams Family musical, will also make a special guest appearance.
Doors open at 7 p.m., with the performance beginning at 8 p.m. on both October 30 and 31.
And yes, costumes would certainly feel right at home.
Make It a Full Halloween Getaway
For travelers who want to turn the experience into a weekend, Hutton Hotel has created an Off Broadway package that includes two VIP tickets to The Addams Family in Concert, an overnight stay at the hotel, valet parking, a cast meet-and-greet and a signed playbill.
Guests can also begin their evening with dinner at Evelyn's. Analog ticket holders receive 15 percent off their meal at Evelyn's before the show.
So instead of simply attending a Halloween performance, visitors can settle into the hotel, have dinner, explore the spooky pop-ups, sip a themed cocktail, meet members of the cast and then enjoy the show.
And Then There Is Nashville
Of course, one of the best reasons to turn the trip into a full weekend is that there is plenty to see and do beyond the Hutton Hotel.
Nashville is home to more than 250 live music venues, so music lovers have plenty of choices once the Addams Family curtain closes.
A visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is an easy addition to a Nashville itinerary, offering exhibits and memorabilia chronicling the history and influence of country music. Visitors can also take a tour of Historic RCA Studio B, the legendary Music Row recording studio associated with artists including Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Roy Orbison.
Then there is the Ryman Auditorium, Nashville's legendary "Mother Church of Country Music." The historic venue offers daytime tours as well as a full calendar of performances.
For another perspective on music history, visitors can explore the National Museum of African American Music, which examines the central role African Americans have played in creating and shaping American music across genres.
Beyond the Music
Nashville is more than honky-tonks and guitars.
Art lovers can visit the Frist Art Museum, while Centennial Park offers the unusual opportunity to see a full-scale replica of the ancient Greek Parthenon. For a stroll through Nashville's creative side, visitors can also explore murals, public art and distinctive neighborhoods such as 12South, Germantown and East Nashville.
And, of course, there is always Broadway.
The famous downtown strip is packed with honky-tonks, restaurants and live music, making it an easy place to continue the evening or simply take in the energy of Music City. Nashville's official tourism guide notes that live music can be found throughout the city, from major venues to intimate listening rooms.
A Halloween Weekend With a Little Something for Everyone
That's what makes the Hutton Hotel experience such a fun reason to visit Nashville this Halloween. You can build the weekend around the Addams Family experience, then fill the rest of your trip with music, museums, food, shopping, nightlife and Nashville's many attractions.
Spend the afternoon exploring Music City. Dress up for dinner. Sip something spooky. Wander through an exhibition of original Charles Addams artwork. Test your courage in the haunted house pop-up. Then settle in for an evening with Broadway talent.
For Halloween, Nashville is ready to get a little strange. And honestly, that's exactly how the Addams Family would like it.
