Congressman Christian D. Menefee Marks Eight Months in Office With More Than 500 Constituent Cases Closed

Congressman Christian D. Menefee (TX-18) has marked eight months in office with his casework team closing more than 500 constituent cases, highlighting the office’s efforts to help residents navigate federal agencies and resolve issues.

Menefee took office after Texas’ 18th Congressional District went more than 330 days without representation in Congress. Since then, his office has worked to establish a constituent services operation focused on assisting residents with issues involving the federal government.

Of the nearly 1,000 constituent cases opened by Menefee’s office since he took office, more than 500 have been closed. The office has also recovered more than $1 million in eligible or delayed funds for constituents.

Cases successfully handled by the office have involved immigration matters, expedited passports, Veterans’ benefits, Social Security, Medicare, the Department of Education, the IRS, the Office of Personnel Management and the U.S. Postal Service.

In addition to casework, Menefee’s office has delivered more than 7,000 congressional recognitions throughout the district, honoring residents and businesses that contribute to the communities of TX-18.

The casework milestone comes as Menefee’s office continues to build its constituent services operation across the district. The office assists residents who are experiencing difficulties with federal agencies or need help navigating federal programs and services.
