Photography by Vicky Pink - On Saturday, June 29, 2013, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at 2222 County Road 129, Wharton, for the 25th UNCF Anniversary Gala Kickoff Reception. This year’s honorary chairman is Reginald Van Lee. UNCF believes that “A mind is terrible thing to waste” so they readily award scholarships to deserving students to continue their college education. The gala is major fundraiser for the anniversary gala. Some in attendance at the kickoff reception were Michael Lomax, Juana Collins, Winell Herron, Delores Smith, Terry Williams, Loren Snowden, Merele Yarborough, Judge Shawn Thierry, Kristyn Page, Phyllis Bailey, and Yavaunda White.
