Photography by Francis Page, Jr. On July 24-27, 2013, Houston Style Magazine was on hand in Philadelphia, PA for the 2013 National Urban League Conference. Using the theme “Redeem the Dream: Jobs Rebuild America,” newsmakers, policy makers, and business and community leaders from across the country converge for four days to educate, employ, and empower lives and communities. Major corporations offering sponsorship and supporting the National Urban League in a huge way were Comcast NBC Universal, Wal-Mart, Macy's, Neilson, BP America, CVS/ pharmacy, CVS Caremark, Toyota, Shell, Nationwide, Cigna, Wells Fargo, Kroger, and Walgreens. Some in attendance included National Urban League’s President & CEO Marc H. Morial, United States Attorney General Eric Holder, Macy’s Director of Diversity Kristyn Page, Houston Area Urban League’s President & CEO Judson Robinson, and Houston Area Urban League’s Eric Goodie and Eric Phillips.
