Photography by Vicky Pink On Saturday, December 13, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at George R. Brown Convention Center for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s 20th Annual “Toys for the Kids” Holiday Celebration. Every year Congresswoman Lee holds this event to ensure that the underprivileged children of Houston have a reason to celebrate the holidays. Children young and old were able to take advantage of live entertainment, a hot meal, health checks, games, and even took home a toy from Santa. Congresswoman Lee honored veterans and Black media. Some in attendance were Jose Grinan, Courtney Gilmore, Karen Carter Richards, Keith Davis Sr., Doris Ellis, J. Goodwille Pierre, Sherry Browning, Judson Robinson, State Rep. Ron Reynolds, State Rep. Sylvester Turner, Carl Davis, Rhonda Arnold, Erica Lee Carter, Jo-Carolyn Goode, and Miss Black America Coed queens – Roneshia Ray, Kaylah Sharve Baker, Rhian McIntyre.
