Photography by Roswitha Vogler On Tuesday, March 25, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand for a special reception honoring Houston’s own Dr. Regan Flowers. The White House recently recognized the Founder & CEO of Communication-Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics Teacher & Student Support Services, Inc., which is the first integrated Pre K through 12th grade STEM enrichment program in the nation, as STEM Diversity and Access “Champion of Change.” Dr. Flowers’ efforts have created opportunities for numerous young people typically underrepresented in STEM industries by using unconventional approaches to enhance student exposure. Some in attendance were Laolu Davies-Yemitan, Rhonda Arnold, Vernita Harris, Roy Carter, and Houston City Councilmen Dwight Boykins and Jack Christie.
