Photography by Vicky Pink On Saturday, May 10, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Elks Grand Ballroom for the 7th Annual Diamonds and Pearls Mother’s Day Awards Gala presented by Extraordinary Events. The affair serves an opportunity for the organization, Diamonds & Pearls Mothers Organization, to continue their mission of empowering women and children to be self-sufficient. A portion of the proceeds were donated to Bee Busy, Inc. Four were honored for mirroring the mission of the organization in their daily lives. The honorees were Clerenda McGrady, Suzani Grant, Stacey Porter, and Maria Rios. Also recognized were Roanyela Espinosa and Merele Yarborough. Some in attendance were organization founder Yvette Adams, HISD Board of Education Wanda Adams, Fox 26 Isaiah Carey, State Rep. Dr. Alma A. Allen, Miss Black Texas Coed 2014 Roneshia Ray, Miss Fort Bend County 2014 Jazmine Worsham, Wash Allen, Bronson Woods, Dr. Jonita Reynolds, Anita Wallace, and Judy Foston.
