Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. for the Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation 44th Annual Legislative Weekend. Judge Greg Mathis, Sheryl Lee Ralph, The Isley Brothers, The Clarence Knight Orchestra, Anika Sam-Anderson, and Chelsea Murray were the 2014 awardees that were recognized for their outstanding contributions to our communities, culture, and nation. President Barack Obama delivered the keynote address with First Lady Michelle Obama by his side. Participating on the program was A. Shuanise Washington, Rev. Sanford Bishop Jr., Rep. Joyce Beatty, Rep. Chaka Fattah, Rep. Marcia L. Fudge, Rev. Marshall Paul Hughes Mitchell, Mereda Davis Johnson, Wade Henderson, Dr. Robert Wright, Susan L. Taylor, Cathy Hughes, Muhammad Ali. Some in attendance were Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Rev. Al Sharpton, Karen Jackson, Congressman Al Green, Martin Luther King III, City Councilman Dwight Boykins, James Ward, and Rep. Charles Rangel.
