Photography by Vicky Pink On Thursday, October 2, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the JW Marriott for the Texas Women Empowerment Foundation’s Community Celebration. It was a lively event that featured singer and Broadway actress Fantasia. Another highlight of the night was the awarding of $40,000 worth of scholarships to students. Some in attendance were TWEF founder Deavra Daughtry, Preston Johnson, Stephen Williams, Carey & Judge Clarease Rankin Yates, Vanessa Alonzo, Melinda Spaulding, Vanessa Reed, Joyce Jacquet, and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
