Photography by Vicky Pink and Roswitha Vogler On Thursday, October 2, 2014, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the JW Marriott for the 8th Annual International Women & Money Leadership Luncheon presented by Texas Women Empowerment Foundation. TWEF Deavra Daughtry brought in international business mogul of the House of Dereon Tina Knowles as the keynote speaker and shared her secrets to success. During the luncheon, Carolyn Farb (Carolyn Farb Enterprise), Christine Ortega (Southwest Airlines), Marina Coryat (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas), Theresa Bazan (Comerica Bank), Monique Shankle (Swift Worldwide Resources), Laurie Vignaud (Capital One Bank) and Elizabeth Campbell (Andrews Kurth LLP) were all honored for their accomplishments as women entrepreneurs. Event chairs were State Rep. Sylvester Turner, Cheryl Creuzot, Rosa Whitaker, Melanie Lawson, Wanda Adams, Dr. Shirley Davis, M. Helen Cavazos, and Kristyn Page. Some in attendance were Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Senator Wendy Davis, City Councilman Jerry Davis, Ndaba Mandela, Carey Yates, Judson Robinson, Rev. Leslie Smith, Gabrielle Deculus, Vanessa Reed, Janice Weaver, Darian Ward, Joy Sewing, Melinda Spaulding, Julie Griffith, and Lacey Dalcour Salas.
