Photography by Vicky Pink - On Tuesday, August 25, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Imani School as they hosted legendary actor and director Bill Duke. Also among Duke’s credits is that of author. He was in Houston promoting his book “Dark Girls” and giving a special kid adapted viewing of his documentary “Dark Girls” and “Light Girls.” Following the viewing, Duke engaged in a Q&A discussion with the students on colorism. Duke was visibly impressed with the sharpness of the Imani students. That impression was further enhanced by the students’ visual presentation of why they love the skin they’re in and poetry readings.
