Photography by Vicky Pink - On Wednesday, August 26, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Café 4212 for a fundraiser for Houston mayoral candidate and State Rep. Sylvester Turner. Also in attendance was special guest legendary actor and director Bill Duke. Guests were able to view Duke’s documentary “Dark Girls” and “Light Girls” and engaged in a Q&A discussion on colorism. A book signing followed the discussion. Some in attendance were Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Laurie Robinson, Rozzy Shorter, State Rep. Borris Miles, Carolyn Scantlebury, James Dixon, Jalene Mack, Carl Davis, Darian Ward, Julie Griffith.
