On Monday, February 23, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at Drew Academy Middle School for a meeting with USDA officials on the development of a community garden. The garden will allow students to take an active participation in growing the foods that eat for better health. Some in attendance were Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Aldine Superintendent Dr. Bamberg, Drew Academy Principal Earnest Washington, USDA Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Dr. Joe Leonard, and USDA Jillian Semaan.
